This year, I:
-Was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
-Lost three months of the year to treatments, leave from work, doctor's appointments, and sleep. I don't remember much at all from these months.
-Started on the two year-long road to recovery. I'm promised full remission.
-Had to drop down to part-time hours at my job.
-Have been in the most pain I've ever experienced.
-Tabled at London Comic Con anyway. Twice.
-Started a successful Etsy store.
-Am well on my way to the freelance career I've been dreaming of.
-Am, despite everything, happier.
-Finished my favourite yearly art summary so far!
Dear Self and Goals for 2018:
Submit MB to Hiveworks!! Keep pushing the quality of the comic pages, and update more often. Start RAID. Just do it. Already made a start on the comic pages; time to stop being nervous about it and just get it out there. Keeping writing Serai, too. Dabble some more in visual novel creation; try to get the first Arc out before the end of 2018. More gesture drawings. Refresh my 3D skills. Posting to DA 3 times per month might have been a lofty goal. Try twice, or at least once. Try to hinge my self-worth less on the recognition of my superiors and more on my own belief in my work. Make the 2017 art summary look like shit in comparison to 2018's! Have fun, and be kind to yourself. 
I achieved:
I did submit MB to Hiveworks! Have yet to hear back. I kept up with updates for a while, before running into another hiatus. RAID is finally on its way!! Comic pages are well underway, script is well underway, and developing the story and characters with the help of friends has been a highlight of my year. <3 I made some progress with Serai's chapters! None with the visual novel however. I wrote a heckload for the Sixth Soul though, so whatever, I'll forgive myself. :T Sorta. Need to post more sketchdumps; I have a huge backlog. XAX;; Soooorta. Been dabbling with SketchUp for MB and tutorial commissions; need to get to grips with Blender and keep going with my Udemy courses. You know what? I think I'm getting there. Tabling at conventions, and the support of my customers and followers, are to thank for this. <3 Well. Quite frankly, I think I definitely managed this. I'm still kicking myself too much, but that's a problem that won't be solved by a simple new year's resolution. It'll take more work than that. But I'll get there. Dear Self and Goals for 2018:
Release RAID!! Stop being afraid of the response. You love it, it makes you happy, that's what matters. Keeping writing. Serai, Sixth Soul. MB...? Or at least, get it out of hiatus again. Table at four conventions, at least! More gesture and still life drawings. I spent a lot of time working on my colour skills this year; get back to draftsmanship. That being said, I focused a lot on blue and pink/red colour palettes this year. Try other colours! Learn Blender. Try music! Try posting to DA 3 times per month now! Keep working on building up your self-esteem. Don't let doubt get in the way of your freelance work. Make the 2019 art summary look like shit in comparison to 2018's! Have fun, and be kind to yourself. Thank you for all your support this year. 2018 was a difficult year - for all of us, certainly. For me, it brought me back down to rock bottom. But it's true what they say about rock bottom: it's the perfect foundation for launching yourself into something better. That's what happened to me this year. And I can't wait to do more of what makes me happy in 2019. c:
