Okay, I'll write about this now, because it's seriously starting to bug me. XDD;;;;

Okay, so. The interview itself went swimmingly. And when I say interview, I mean, I actually got TO TALK TO someone this time, instead of having that head teacher bitch talking AT me. This guy - damn me for not asking his name - was actually interested in what I had to say, in finding out about me as a student, what I wanted to, all the stuff that would be expected for a proper interview. Not just, "You don't have enough I'm too important to spend time on you, OUT. D<"

And... he was lovely. He had so many amazing things to say about my work, and some INCREDIBLY harsh critiques as well! But I took it all in good stead, because what he had to say was so true - this was my first time hearing feedback from a proper PROFESSIONAL. That is what I have always wanted for my work!! I couldn't put down in words how thankful I was - I mean, he was either praising me to high heaven or ripping the shit out of me, but I adored everything he had to say.

Looking at my realism work, he called it "Gorgeous, fantastic" - he said the college was sick to death of seeing manga inspired work, but he was crazy about mine! He thought the bodies I drew were "fantastic", and he even used a really old one that I thought was crap as an example (Nyah, it was actually a drawing of Shani! Hahaha!).

BUT. And I totally agree with him on this.

He didn't like my heads or my eyes.

And... I can see where he was coming from. The word "derivative" was used, and... Yeah, I could dig that. I got most of my inspiration from the illustrators of Et Cetera and Saiyuki, so I guess the result would be pretty fugly, haha. XD It was odd, actually, because just a few days prior I'd realize - thanks to Serai - how much I preferred drawing bodies - especially dynamics - to faces.

Now, what he had to say was harsh... but I realized, this is what I had been waiting for. Some PROPER advice from someone that totally knew what he was doing - not that I don't appreciate any advice I've received in the past - quite the contrary; if not for that, I wouldn't have been good enough to get into Foundation. But this was JUST the kick up the arse I needed.

So, please guys, I really need your help now more than anything.

CRITIQUE THE CRAP OUT OF ME.

As if that stamp didn't make it clear enough, I REALLY would appreciate ANYTHING you have to say about my style if you think it will help me to improve. ANYTHING. EVEN - NO - ESPECIALLY THE SERAI COMIC. (I mean, the interviewer totally praised my work for that, said the narrative was played out incredibly well, all the zooming in and out, BUTSTILL) -- I seriously need help now more than anything. Even if I pump out something that you think is good, if there is even ONE mistake, ONE blemish, POINT IT OUT TO ME AND MAKE SURE I CORRECT IT.

Especially where my faces are concerned - bloody hell, this is bugging me so much!! XDDD;; I'm changing characters that have more square eyes than usual - like Mizuki - rounding them off a little so they look more natural. Please guys, anything to help me improve. D:
